How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    THE ROLE
    As a Workshop Controller, you'll be responsible for supporting the Aftersales Manager in the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring work is completed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Allocating and controlling workshop jobs to maximise productivity
    ·Monitoring job progress and keeping the Service team updated
    ·Carrying out quality control checks and final vehicle inspections
    ·Managing labour utilisation, workshop equipment, and consumables
    ·Ensuring compliance with manufacturer, warranty, and health & safety standards
    ·Supporting, motivating, and developing workshop staff
    ·Maintaining a safe, organised, and professional workshop environment
    ·Helping to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and operational performance
     
    ABOUT YOU
    We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
    ·Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Vehicle Technician, Master Technician, or Service Advisor
    ·Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
    ·Excellent workshop planning and time management abilities
    ·A customer-focused approach with a commitment to quality
    ·Good IT and administrative skills
    ·The ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
    ·Full UK Manual Driving Licence
