How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Ideally you will have worked with mill / turn machines and programmed them for turning. We are looking for a CAD/CAM programmer, ideally with experience in SolidCAM and SolidWorks – although experience with other CAM programs would be considered.

The CNC programmer will support the programming, prove-out and optimisation of complex precision machined components. The successful candidate will have strong experience with multi-axis/multi spindle mill/turn machining, offline programming, tooling selection, fixture/workholding considerations, and process improvement.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

    * Strong experience with mill/turn CNC machines.

    * Ability to program complex turned features, including multiaxis machining

    * Experience using offline CAM software such as SolidCAM, Mastercam, Hypermill, Powermill or similar.

    * Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and 3D CAD models

    * Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding and machining strategy

This is a Monday to Friday day shift. Suitable candidates would include those that are looking for a permanent position but are happy to start as a long term temporary work OR contractors that would look at a 6 -12 month contract. The position is paying up to £31.50/hr on PAYE DOE and we have some flexibility for contractors working through a ltd or umbrella company.

If you are an experience CNC programmer with a background in turning, ideally on a mill / turn machine please apply now to find out more – We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, although if the right candidate has a notice period that is not a problem.
