How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Multi‑Trade Operative (Carpentry‑Biased)

    Location: Swindon area

    Full‑Time | Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance

    The role

    Carpentry biased Multi trade operative, ideally with window repairs experience or competent with minor carpentry repairs on Upvc / wooden doors and windows. Full time role offered working for a friendly repairs & maintenance company. The work is in the social housing domestic properties for long‑standing landlord clients. You’ll handle day‑to‑day repairs, minor installations, and planned maintenance tasks. A background in Upvc windows/doors or at least confidence with minor repairs on them is highly desirable, but there are a range of multi-trade jobs.

    What you’ll be doing

    1. Carpentry repairs - doors, frames, skirting, boxing‑in, minor installations

    2. UPVC window & door repairs - hinges, handles, seals, adjustments

    3. Domestic social housing work - working respectfully in occupied homes

    4. Using a PDA/smartphone to complete job sheets and upload photos

    5. Planned appointments - your day is organised for you by the office scheduling team

    What we’re looking for

    1. A carpentry‑biased multi‑trade operative

    2. Experience with UPVC windows/doors or confidence with minor repairs is ideal

    3. General multi‑trade tasks - basic plumbing, patch plastering, decorating, minor remedials

    4. Good customer‑facing skills and tidy working habits

    5. Basic hand tools of your own (specialist tools provided)

    6. A reliable, friendly, professional approach

    What you’ll receive

    1. Salary: £35-38k p.a. DOE with potential opportunities to earn more
