How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Civil Engineer - Heavy Civil Infrastructure Design
    Location: Kingston upon Thames
    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

    Are you a Civil Engineer with experience delivering major infrastructure projects? Looking to join a well-established international engineering consultancy working on complex heavy civil engineering schemes?

    We're recruiting on behalf of a respected consultancy seeking a Civil Engineer with around 5-10 years' experience to join their growing team in Kingston upon Thames.

    This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging infrastructure projects within a collaborative engineering environment, with excellent support towards professional development and ICE progression.

    Civil Engineer - Job Overview

    Prepare civil engineering designs, drawings and calculations.
    Design pavements, drainage networks and associated infrastructure.
    Produce engineering reports, specifications and technical documentation.
    Undertake engineering assessments, feasibility studies and design analysis.
    Support site inspections and provide technical support during project delivery.
    Work closely with multidisciplinary design and project teams.
    Assist with project planning, scheduling and programme delivery.
    Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and best practice.

    Civil Engineer - Job Requirements

    Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
    Approximately 5-10 years' post-graduate experience.
    Experience working on heavy civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
    Previous experience within one or more of the following sectors would be advantageous:
    Ports & Harbours
    Marine & Coastal Infrastructure
    Highways
    Bridges & Structures
    Rail Infrastructure
    Tunnelling
    Flood Defence
    Water Infrastructure
    Earthworks & Ground Improvement
    Heavy Reinforced Concrete Structures
    Experience producing engineering calculations, reports and technical documentation.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
