How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Responsibilities:

As a Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Tutor (ASC), you will be responsible for supporting students during their studies and helping them to develop effective learning strategies including:

    *

Structuring essays and coursework – developing logical essay plans and organising ideas into clear arguments

    *

    Managing academic reading

    *

Executive functioning for coursework – realistically blocking, estimating and managing time

    *

    Academic writing skills

    *

    Notetaking and process information

    *

Support for exams and assessments – interpretation of questions and structuring responses, as well as utilising reasonable adjustments

    Experience and qualifications:

It is essential that you hold:

    *

    A University degree

    *

Teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, AFHEA, Cert Ed, DELTA or a relevant professional body membership with BDA, PASSHE, PATOSS or Dyslexia Guild

    *

Training in Autism such as the NAS modules

    Pay and benefits:

You will be employed on a temporary basis and can choose to support as many students as you wish. There is a huge amount of flexibility available to you and we offer a competitive hourly rate.

    *

£35 per hour + £4.22 holiday pay (£39.22 per hour rolled up)

    *

    Workplace pension scheme

    *

    CPD and online training events

    *

    Peer-to-peer networking sessions

    *

    Dedicated point of contact

    *

    Flexible working patterns

    About us:

We are a growing NMH provider, passionate about what we do, but with a clear purpose – to help students maximise their potential. Our approach is personalised from the outset, ensuring every student receives tailored support aligned to their individual needs. We partner with students, professional support workers, and Universities to provide high quality services
