How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Service & Maintenance Engineer

    CCTV & Access Control Focus
    £46,000 – £50,000 basic DOE
    London – Site Based
    Permanent, Full-Time

I’m recruiting for a Senior Service & Maintenance Engineer to support a well-established, high-quality electronic security integrator operating across commercial and construction environments in London.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys complex fault finding, taking ownership of live systems, and being trusted as the senior technical point on site. You’ll be responsible for keeping critical fire and security systems operational, compliant and reliable, while acting as a calm, professional presence with clients.

This is a hands-on senior role with no people management — focused on technical excellence, autonomy and long-term system performance.

    The Role
As a Senior Service & Maintenance Engineer, you’ll take ownership of both planned preventative maintenance and complex reactive faults across a varied client portfolio.

You’ll be trusted to investigate issues thoroughly, identify root causes, carry out effective repairs and recommend sensible remedial or upgrade solutions where required.

    Your day-to-day will include:
Planned preventative maintenance across fire & security systems

Diagnosing and resolving complex or recurring faults

Servicing live systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarms

Root-cause analysis to reduce repeat call-outs and downtime

Repair, replacement and recommissioning of equipment

    Producing accurate, audit-ready service documentation

Acting as a senior, client-facing technical representative

Advising clients on system condition, risks and next steps

Supporting installation and commissioning teams where servicing expertise is required

Participating in an on-call rota as an escalation-level engineer

This role plays a key part in maintaining system integrity, client confidence and long-term service relationships.

    Technical Scope
CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Detection systems

Preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repair and recommissioning

    Legacy and modern platforms

    IP-based environments including networking fundamentals

Live, operational sites where accuracy and reliability are critical

    Location & Travel
    London-based client sites

Role designed around public transport travel

Monthly travel costs covered (Zones 1–2)

    No company vehicle required

    What They’re Looking For
Minimum 5 years’ experience servicing electronic security systems

    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability

Solid knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire systems

Familiarity with BS5839, BS7671 and industry codes of practice

    Confident, professional client-facing communication

Ability to manage workload and priorities independently

Strong commitment to health & safety

Ability to pass background vetting / BPSS or SC clearance

    Desirable but not essential:
    IP networking knowledge

Level 3 (or higher) electrical/electronic qualification

    ECS / CSCS card

FIA modules or fire systems training

Manufacturer training (e.g. Paxton, Avigilon, Gallagher, Salto, Texecom, Hikvision)

    Salary & Package
    £46,000 – £50,000 basic salary

    Paid on-call rota

    Monthly travel costs covered

Company phone, tools, uniform and PPE

Fully funded, role-relevant training and certifications

Employee ownership scheme (after qualifying period)

20 days holiday plus bank holidays

    Why This Role?
    Senior, respected servicing position

    Complex, technically interesting systems

    Autonomy and trust on site

    Strong training and standards

    Long-term stability within a quality-driven environment

If you’re a Senior Service / Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems properly and being relied on for your technical judgement, I’d be happy to talk through the role in confidence
