How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Buyer – IT Procurement

    Based in Stevenage

    Salary from £45,000 - £55,000

    This is a Lead Buyer role covering the full IT spend, enterprise software, engineering software, SaaS, cyber, networks, hardware, security, AI, HPC, the works. Real category breadth, real ownership, and the room to specialise or broaden as you go.

    You don't need to tick every box. If you're an established IT Buyer with MCIPS ready for the next step, come talk to us. If you're an Indirect Buyer who's never worked IT but wants to, we'll help you get there, including support toward MCIPS.

    What you'll actually be doing: running large procurement projects, working with teams across the UK and Europe, and building relationships with stakeholders and suppliers who take procurement seriously, because in this business, they have to.

    Hybrid working (2-3 days a week on-site), quarterly team meetings that rotate between UK, Germany, Italy and Paris, and a package that includes bonus, overtime, flexi-leave, up to 14% pension contribution and a genuinely flexible approach to how and where you work.

    British citizenship is required for security clearance purposes.
