How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a Cover Supervisor or School Administrator looking for a new challenge at a vibrant and busy School? Perhaps you're a Graduate or currently working outside of education and looking for a route into a career within education?

    Tradewind Secondary are working alongside a well run, small secondary school to find them a Cover Manager to join their administration team from September.

    Responsible for arranging internal cover, managing the daily timetable and covering lessons yourself this is an important role in the smooth, day to day running of the school. We are looking for an organised professional with good communication skills and the ability to work with the whole school team. The school has a degree of scope for the post with working hours but will include availability from 6:30 / 7 am to organise cover and be on site from 7:30am. As part of the role you will also be required to cover lessons yourself for absent teachers and utilised their pre-planned cover work.

    The school is a well run and inclusive secondary school based near Potters Bar, staff here are happy and well respected by SLT and pupils alike. The role will consist of data entry and require an organised individual able to work within a team. Full training and support will be provided from an exceptional and very experienced line manager.

    We are open on applications from Graduates looking for a route into education or those considering a career change. Cover Supervisors or supply teachers looking for consistency and keen to make a career move are also encouraged to apply. The school is part of a wider trust well known for it's staff development and training for those looking to progress onto teacher training or further their development will be offered full support.
