How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teacher of Geography

    Location: Leicester
    Salary: MPS Scale - £32,916 - £49,084 (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)
    Contract: Full-Time

    Are you an inspiring Geography Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity in Leicester for the new term?
    Clarence Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Leicester that is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful Humanities faculty where academic achievement, student engagement, and professional development are highly valued.
    The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the physical and human world whilst encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness.

    The Role

    As a Geography Teacher, you will:

    Deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    Inspire students to develop an understanding of environmental, social, and global issues.
    Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
    Assess, monitor, and support student progress to maximise achievement.
    Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
    Contribute to curriculum development and wider departmental initiatives.
    Support enrichment activities, fieldwork opportunities, and cross-curricular learning where appropriate.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    Have experience teaching Geography within a secondary school setting.
    Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for the subject.
    Have high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and achievement.
    Be a confident classroom practitioner with strong communication skills.
    Be committed to creating engaging and inspiring learning experiences.
    Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
