How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic

    Location: Northampton
    Salary: £32,000 Basic Salary Depending on Experience | OTE £38,000
    Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm | 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs while ensuring every vehicle is completed to the highest manufacturer standards.
    Your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work efficiently
    Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicles
    Completing repairs and maintenance to manufacturer standards
    Conducting vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where required
    Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and safety standards
    Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards
    Working closely with the wider workshop team to deliver excellent customer service

    You'll also have:

    NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
    At least 3 years' experience within the automotive industry
    Strong servicing, maintenance and diagnostic skills
    MOT Licence advantageous but not essential
    Your own tools and toolbox
    Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    A positive attitude with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
