How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Field Manager – Major Works (Lifts)

    We are seeking an experienced Field Manager to join our Major Works team, overseeing the delivery of a prestigious, large-scale lift installation project in London.

    This flagship development comprises 14 high-specification, high-speed lifts serving 23 floors, all operating on a Destination Control System. The project includes a mix of passenger, firefighting, evacuation, and goods lifts, featuring bespoke lift car and architrave finishes. The first phase of the programme covers the installation of 11 lifts over a 12-month period.

    The Role

    As Field Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site operations and ensuring the successful delivery of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing the overall running of the project and resolving on-site issues

    * Coordinating and managing subcontractors

    * Ensuring health and safety compliance across the site

    * Scheduling the delivery of lift materials

    * Placing orders with local suppliers

    * Managing and ordering missing materials

    * Carrying out site surveys

    * Conducting quality assurance inspections on installations

    * Producing fortnightly progress reports

    * Leading fortnightly site safety walks, PPE audits, and toolbox talks

    * Attending regular meetings with the client, principal contractor, and lift consultant

    * Participating in daily project coordination meetings

    About You

    We're looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a busy project environment.

    Essential requirements:

    * Based in the UK and able to commute to London daily

    * Fluent English with excellent communication skills when working with engineers, clients, consultants, and contractors

    * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Lift Installation

    * Strong experience in new lift installations and/or modernisation projects

    * Up-to-date knowledge of current lift regulations

    Desirable qualifications:

    * SMSTS or SSSTS

    * First Aid certification

    Opportunity

    This role would suit an experienced Field Manager, but we also welcome applications from strong Lift Engineers or Senior Technicians looking to take the next step into management. Full support and training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude, technical expertise, and leadership potential.

    Package

    * Salary: £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience

    * Project-based bonus scheme

    * Opportunity to work on a prestigious, high-profile London development

    * Long-term career progression within a growing major projects team

    We are looking to appoint someone as soon as possible, so early applications are encouraged
