How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools | Ideal for Graduates & Sports Coaches

Cover Supervisor | Secondary Education | Graduate & Sports Coach Opportunity

Are you a graduate, sports coach, or someone with a strong interest in working with young people? Have you considered a career in secondary education but want to gain classroom experience before committing to teacher training?

Vision for Education is recruiting enthusiastic and confident individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4. This role is an excellent stepping stone into teaching, education support roles, or long-term supply work.

    About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning in secondary schools by supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Leading classes of approximately 25–30 pupils

Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects

Managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning environments

Taking accurate registers and following school policies

Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of the lesson

You do not need to be a subject specialist. Full lesson materials are provided, allowing you to focus on engaging pupils, managing the classroom, and supporting learning.

For candidates new to the role, Vision for Education offers access to a Cover Supervisor Training Programme, designed to build confidence, classroom management skills, and an understanding of safeguarding and school expectations.

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This role is particularly suited to:

Graduates considering a future in teaching

Sports coaches with experience leading groups of young people

Youth workers, mentors, and education support staff

Career changers interested in working in secondary schools

Individuals seeking flexible or entry-level roles in education

    Requirements

To be considered for this Cover Supervisor role, you will need:

    A degree or equivalent qualification

    Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A positive, proactive, and reliable approach

A genuine interest in education and supporting young people

Eligibility to work in the UK and a valid DBS (or willingness to apply)

What Vision for Education Offers You

As a Cover Supervisor working with Vision for Education, you will benefit from:

Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via the PAYE system

A Guaranteed Pay Scheme (subject to availability)

Access to CPD and Cover Supervisor training

    Pension contributions

    Social and networking events

A dedicated consultant to support your development and progression

Vision for Education operates as an MSP and a Lot 2 provider on the CCS framework, supplying high-quality staff to secondary schools across the UK. As an experienced MSP and CCS Lot 2 provider, Vision for Education offers structured, compliant, and well-supported opportunities for those entering education.
