Duties
* Operate various types of commercial vehicles, including Fridges, containers, flatbeds, curtains
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
* Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving in various conditions.
* Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.
Requirements
* Valid commercial driver's license plus digi and cpc card
* no more than 6 points on license
* ideally knowledge of the port
* Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery driver roles;
* Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles and basic maintenance skills.
* Experience operating heavy equipment or vehicles such as tow trucks, tankers, or paratransit vehicles is advantageous.
* Familiarity with route driving and logistics management.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Salary description
£17.25 - £21.00 per hour
