How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Damage Assessor

    Location: York
    Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Basic DOE | OTE: £50,000

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you'll be responsible for producing accurate repair estimates while ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with technicians, insurers and customers to deliver an excellent repair experience from start to finish.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Inspecting damaged vehicles and preparing accurate repair estimates.
    ·Assessing repair methods in line with manufacturer and insurance standards.
    ·Liaising with customers, insurance companies and engineers throughout the repair process.
    ·Ordering and monitoring parts required for vehicle repairs.
    ·Working closely with the workshop team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
    ·Monitoring repair progress and updating customers where required.
    ·Ensuring all estimates and documentation are completed accurately and compliantly.
    ·Maintaining excellent levels of customer service throughout every stage of the repair.

    About You
    You'll be an organised and customer-focused Vehicle Damage Assessor with strong technical knowledge and previous experience within a Bodyshop environment.

    You will ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Estimator / Bodyshop Estimator.
    ·Hold an ATA / IMI accreditation in Vehicle Damage Assessment and proficiency in estimating systems such as Audatex / GT Global
    ·Experience working with insurance repair processes.
    ·Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    ·Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
    ·The ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
