How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commercial Lead
    Location: London (Future frequent EU travel required)

    Join an International Engineering & Construction Contractor, working on Hyperscale Data Centres across the EU!

    We're working with a leading engineering and construction contractor delivering complex hyperscale data centre projects across Europe and are looking for a Commercial Lead to join the team in London and play a key role in the commercial success of major engineering and construction projects.

    As Commercial Lead, you will:

    Lead the commercial management of major engineering and construction projects from pre-contract through to final account
    Support contract negotiation, contract administration and commercial risk management
    Work closely with project managers, operational teams and senior leadership to protect project margin and drive commercial performance
    Manage cost reporting, forecasting, change control, variations, claims and final accounts
    Review and advise on contract terms, commercial obligations and project risk
    Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
    Support procurement and subcontractor commercial management
    Provide commercial guidance to project teams and ensure best practice is followed
    Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, reporting and project controls
    Represent the commercial function professionally across UK and future European projects 

    A Commercial Lead will have:

    Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead
    HND or higher
    Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial governance and project financial control
    Experience managing change, variations, claims and final accounts
    Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with clients, project teams and senior leadership
    A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to make sound commercial decisions
    Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
    The ability to travel into Europe as the role develops
    A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageousWhy Join?
