How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Procurement Assistant will support procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring efficient processes and compliance with company policies. This role is based in Newport and focuses on assisting with procurement tasks to meet organisational goals.

    Description

    As Procurement Assistant you will report into the Commercial Manager, duties will include, however, not be limited to:

    Assist in preparing and issuing contracts in line with procurement guidelines.
    Support the sourcing and evaluation of suppliers to ensure the best value for the organisation.
    Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for compliance purposes.
    Support the category team with sourcing activities focused around, online tender set-up in our e-sourcing platform
    Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and priorities.
    Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to maintain service quality.
    Responsible for the proactive maintenance of the Approved Vendor List
    Assist in analysing cost-saving opportunities and improving procurement efficiency.
    Ensure procurement practices adhere to sustainability and ethical standards.

    Profile

    A successful Procurement Assistant should have:

    Previous experience in procurement or supply chain.
    Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
    Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
