How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Math Teacher
    Location: Wakefield (WF7)
    Payrates: £150 - £200 per day (Depending on experience)
    Start Date: Immediate
    Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

    Do you have the subject knowledge and classroom confidence to make mathematics clear, engaging, and accessible?

    GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with progressive schools in Wakefield (WF7) to appoint a Mathematics Teacher. We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable teacher who can deliver purposeful lessons, strengthen students’ mathematical understanding, and encourage positive attitudes towards problem-solving.

    This opportunity is suited to a teacher who can bring mathematics to life, helping students understand key concepts and apply them with confidence.

    Responsibilities of Maths Teacher:

    Deliver engaging mathematics lessons that support curriculum expectations.
    Explain complex topics clearly to help students build understanding and confidence.
    Use assessment information to identify gaps and guide future learning.
    Encourage problem-solving, logical thinking, and independent learning.
    Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement.
    Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and student progress discussions.
    Requirements for Math Teacher:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
    Previous experience teaching mathematics in school settings.
    Secure subject knowledge and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly are required.
    Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and supporting student engagement is essential.
    A structured, patient, and adaptable teaching approach is desirable.
    Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
