How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior ITAM Practitioner

Location: Uxbridge, Sheffield or Manchester (Hybrid, 3 days a week)

    About the Role

Insight is seeking an experienced Senior ITAM Practitioner to join our growing IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice. This is a client-facing consultancy role where you will work with organisations to develop and deliver effective ITAM strategies that drive compliance, optimisation and business value.

Working across the full lifecycle of client engagements, you'll play a key role in pre-sales activities, solution design, bid responses and the successful delivery of complex ITAM programmes. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients while helping Insight continue to grow its ITAM capabilities and market presence.

    What You'll Do

As a Senior ITAM Practitioner, you'll support clients from initial engagement through to delivery, helping them maximise the value of their technology investments.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Leading and contributing to RFP responses, bids and proposals, working closely with sales and pre-sales teams to develop compelling client solutions.

    * Supporting client workshops, presentations and discovery sessions to understand business requirements and define effective ITAM strategies.

    * Designing and delivering ITAM programmes across Software Asset Management (SAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), SaaS Management and FinOps.

    * Developing governance frameworks, operating models and optimisation strategies that improve compliance, visibility and cost control.

    * Identifying opportunities for licence, cloud and hardware optimisation while supporting audit readiness and risk management activities.

    * Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across IT, Procurement, Finance and business leadership teams.

    * Providing expert guidance on software licensing, vendor management and ITAM best practices.

    * Contributing to the ongoing development of Insight's ITAM methodologies, tools and service offerings.

    * Supporting colleagues through mentoring, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with a strong combination of consultancy experience, commercial awareness and technical ITAM expertise.

    You will ideally have:

    * Experience supporting or leading RFP responses, bid management or proposal development activities.

    * A consultancy or pre-sales background within IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management or a related discipline.

    * Experience delivering ITAM solutions within complex enterprise environments.

    * Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.

    * Knowledge of SAM, HAM, SaaS Management and/or FinOps principles.

    * Experience working with ITAM platforms such as Flexera, ServiceNow or similar technologies.

    * Understanding of software licensing models across major vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and SAP.

    * Familiarity with industry frameworks including ITIL and ISO standards.

    * Strong analytical, reporting and data interpretation skills using tools such as Excel and Power BI.

    What Success Looks Like

In this role, you'll build trusted client relationships, deliver high-quality consulting engagements and contribute to winning new business opportunities. You'll help organisations improve governance, optimise technology spend, reduce compliance risk and realise measurable business value from their IT assets.

    Why Insight?

At Insight, we believe our people are our greatest strength. We provide the freedom to think big, the support to grow your career and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, you'll enjoy:

    * A collaborative and supportive culture built on our values of Hunger, Heart and Harmony.

    * Opportunities to work with leading organisations on strategic technology initiatives.

    * Access to career development and continuous learning opportunities.

    * The flexibility of a hybrid working environment.

    * The chance to be part of a Fortune 500 global technology solutions provider with an average employee tenure of more than six years.
