How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Electrician - Social Housing Repairs
    Location: Luton Based | Covering Luton, Milton Keynes, Bedford & Cambridge
    Salary: £40,000 - £43,325 + Company Van & Fuel Card

    About the Role

    We are working with a leading social housing contractor who is looking to recruit an experienced Electrician to join their growing reactive maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established business that offers a competitive salary, long-term stability, and a consistent workload.

    Working across occupied social housing properties, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations while providing an excellent service to residents. If you're a qualified Electrician who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and takes pride in completing work to a high standard, we'd love to hear from you.

    This role covers Luton, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling across these areas.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out reactive electrical repairs, maintenance and installations within occupied social housing properties.
    Diagnose electrical faults quickly and complete first-time fixes wherever possible.
    Undertake electrical testing, inspection and remedial works as required.
    Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and health & safety standards.
    Accurately complete job reports and update works using a PDA or mobile device.
    Maintain company van stock and ensure materials are used efficiently.
    Deliver outstanding customer service while working professionally in tenants' homes.
    Work independently to manage your daily workload while supporting the wider maintenance team when required.

    What We're Looking For

    Proven experience working as an Electrician within social housing, domestic maintenance or reactive repairs.
    NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
    2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
    AM2 qualification is advantageous.
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    Good knowledge of current electrical regulations and safe working practices.
    Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
