How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Void Supervisor

    Cambridge (Covering Cambridgeshire & Surrounding Areas)
    £45,000 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
    Full Time | Permanent | Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm

    Fraser Edwards are recruiting for an experienced Void Supervisor to join a leading property services contractor delivering void property refurbishment and maintenance across a social housing contract in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated supervisor with a background in social housing or property maintenance to lead a team of skilled tradespeople, ensuring void properties are turned around safely, efficiently and to a high standard, ready for new tenants.

    You'll oversee void works across Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and the client to ensure programmes are delivered on time and within budget.

    The Role

    As Void Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of operatives and subcontractors carrying out refurbishment works to empty social housing properties. You'll drive productivity, quality, compliance and customer satisfaction while supporting the Operations Manager to achieve performance targets and minimise turnaround times.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Supervise a team of skilled tradespeople delivering void refurbishment works.

    *

    Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management.

    *

    Ensure void properties are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

    *

    Monitor productivity and maximise first-time completion.

    *

    Assist with recruitment, training and development of operatives.

    *

    Carry out trade and vehicle audits in line with Health & Safety policies.

    *

    Manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance, quality and value for money.

    *

    Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

    *

    Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve operational performance.

    *

    Promote a positive health and safety culture across all sites.

    Essential

    *

    Previous experience supervising property maintenance or void refurbishment teams.

    *

    Strong leadership and people management skills.

    *

    Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

    *

    Good IT skills.

    *

    Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).

    *

    Willingness to travel across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas.

    *

    Ability to pass a DBS check.

    Desirable

    *

    Experience working within social housing.

    *

    Knowledge of void property processes and refurbishment programmes.

    *

    Experience using handheld devices or PDAs.

    *

    A professional approach with high standards and strong customer focus.
