How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Construction Manager
    Liverpool

    Are you an experienced Site Construction Manager with a mechanical or civil engineering background?
    Do you enjoy leading complex projects in live, high-hazard environments?
    Are you looking for your next long-term contract outside IR35?

    What will you be doing?

    Managing the day-to-day delivery of a fire suppression pipework and civil installation project, ensuring work is completed safely and to specification
    Leading multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors, coordinating trades to maintain programme and quality
    Ensuring compliance with site-specific procedures and high-hazard working requirements
    Taking responsibility for site health and safety, including toolbox talks, permit-to-work systems and enforcing safe working practices
    Liaising with the client's site operations team to coordinate access, permits and interfaces with live plant
    Monitoring programme progress, resolving site issues and escalating risks where required
    Managing quality inspections of pipework and civil installations against engineering specifications
    Coordinating deliveries, plant and materials on a busy operational site
    Producing site progress reports and attending client progress meetings
    Where you'll be doing it?
    You'll be joining a specialist engineering business delivering a major fire suppression installation on a live operational port facility in Liverpool. This technically challenging project involves working within a high-hazard environment, requiring strong site leadership, close coordination with operational teams and a relentless focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.

    What you'll need:

    Valid SMSTS qualification
    Mechanical or civil engineering background
    Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in hazardous or high-hazard environments
    Experience working on ATEX sites is highly desirable
    Strong site leadership skills with experience running live operational sites
    Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on complex construction programmes
