How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Academics are recruiting on behalf of a school based in Berkhamsted who are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated and supportive team. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Berkhamsted

    Start Date: September (with the opportunity to start sooner, subject to satisfactory onboarding checks)
    Pay: £475-£520 per week (paid weekly) depending on experience
    Contract: Full-time, long-term with the opportunity to go permanent
    Progression: Teacher training opportunities available

    Experienced Teaching Assistants

    Graduates with relevant voluntary or SEN experienceAbout the Role:

    As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD and speech, language and communication needs
    Support pupils to access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence
    Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement tailored support strategies
    Assist with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to pupil progress
    Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
    Receive ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skillsThe school is committed to providing high-quality support for every pupil and offers a welcoming environment where staff are valued and encouraged to develop professionally.
