How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our Client is a fast‑growing renewable energy company delivering premium solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging solutions across the UK. As they expand into additional technologies such as air source heat pumps, they require a Nominated Technical Person (NTP) to act as the technical authority for all electrical and renewable installations.

The NTP will ensure all works meet the highest standards of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, while supporting the business in scaling its operational capability.

This role is critical in maintaining the company’s reputation for high‑quality installations, premium products, long‑term performance guarantees, and customer‑focused renewable solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Technical Compliance & Governance

    • Serve as the company’s Nominated Technical Person for solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and future heat pump installations.

    • Ensure all installations comply with BS 7671, MCS standards, DNO requirements, and RECC consumer codes.

    • Oversee technical documentation, commissioning sheets, test results, and system sign‑off.

    • Maintain and update internal installation standards, technical manuals, and quality procedures.

    System Design & Technical Oversight

    • Review and approve customised solar PV system designs to ensure optimal performance and customer savings.

    • Validate system sizing, inverter selection, battery configuration, EV charger integration, and cable calculations.

    • Provide technical guidance to surveyors and designers during site assessments and feasibility checks.

    Installation Quality Assurance

    • Conduct audits on completed installations to ensure they meet the company’s standards for premium products, tidy workmanship, and long‑term reliability.

    • Ensure installations follow the structured process: consultation, assessment, design, installation, commissioning, and customer handover.

    • Oversee safe working practices including roof access, DC/AC isolation, battery safety, and EV charger installation standards.

    Team Leadership & Training

    • Support and mentor installation teams, electricians, and solar engineers.

    • Deliver training on new technologies including battery systems, EV chargers, and heat pumps.

    • Ensure all staff follow correct testing, inspection, and commissioning procedures.

    Customer Assurance & Technical Support

    • Provide expert technical support to customers when required.

    • Ensure customers receive accurate system performance information, app setup guidance, and long‑term maintenance advice.

    • Uphold the company’s reputation for excellent communication, honest advice, and no overselling.

    Regulatory & Accreditation Management

    • Maintain company compliance with MCS, NAPIT/NICEIC, RECC, and other accreditation bodies.

    • Prepare documentation for audits and renewals.

    • Liaise with DNOs for G98/G99 applications and approvals.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    *

    NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification.

    *

    AM2 / AM2S / AM2E.

    *

    18th Edition (BS 7671).

    *

Level 3 Inspection & Testing (2391‑52 or equivalent).

    *

Demonstrable experience in solar PV, battery storage, or EV charging installations.

    *

Strong understanding of MCS standards and renewable energy compliance.

    *

Ability to lead teams, manage technical risk, and uphold high installation standards.

    Desirable Experience

    • Experience designing or commissioning hybrid solar‑battery systems.

    • Knowledge of app‑based monitoring platforms (Solis, GivEnergy, Sunsynk, Tesla Powerwall).

    • Experience working with premium solar products and long‑term performance warranties.

    Why Work With Our Client?

    • Join a company committed to excellence, premium products, and customer savings.

    • Be part of a rapidly growing renewable energy provider expanding into heat pumps and whole‑home energy solutions.

    • Influence technical standards, installation quality, and future product offerings.

    • Opportunity to grow into senior leadership as the company scales.
