How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Stockport & South Manchester Areas
    Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible Supply Work (1-5 Days per Week)
Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via our in-house PAYE payroll

Are you qualifying as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) this summer and looking to secure your first teaching role?

Premier Education is recruiting enthusiastic ECTs to work on primary supply across Stockport and South Manchester from September.

Supply teaching is one of the best ways to begin your teaching career. It allows you to experience a variety of schools, year groups, and teaching environments while building your confidence and developing your classroom practice. You'll also have the opportunity to learn from experienced teachers and see a wide range of teaching styles and best practice.

Many schools use supply teaching as an opportunity to get to know teachers before making permanent appointments. In fact, a number of our 2025 ECTs secured permanent teaching roles after impressing schools whilst working on supply through Premier Education.

    The Role:

Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
Building valuable experience in a variety of primary schools
Developing classroom management and teaching confidence
Gaining exposure to different school settings and teaching approaches
Creating positive learning environments and inspiring young learners

    Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS by September 2026
A positive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Passion for teaching and supporting children's learning
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

    What's on Offer:

Flexible work to suit your availability (1-5 days per week)
A fantastic way to gain experience before securing a permanent role
Opportunities to work in a wide range of welcoming local schools
    Competitive daily pay rates
Weekly pay through our in-house PAYE payroll
Ongoing support, advice, and career guidance from a dedicated Premier Education consultantPremier Education is a trusted education recruitment agency, proudly supporting schools and educators across the North of England since 2001. We take the time to understand your needs and work hard to find you the right role, every time.

The successful applicant will be subject to enhanced DBS and reference checks in line with safer recruitment practices. This role involves safeguarding responsibilities, and candidates must be committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for non-UK candidates.
