How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations Specialist

    Location: Heathrow
    Salary: Negotiable (Depending on Experience)

    We're working with a well-established and expanding logistics business that is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Specialist to join their busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced freight environment and enjoys managing shipments from start to finish while delivering exceptional customer service.

    What You'll Be Doing

    You'll play a key role in coordinating domestic and international shipments, ensuring every movement is handled efficiently, compliantly and with outstanding customer service.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing shipments from booking through to final delivery

    * Coordinating air, road, courier and multimodal freight movements

    * Liaising with airlines, hauliers, suppliers, overseas agents and customers

    * Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving delays or service issues

    * Preparing and processing shipping documentation accurately

    * Providing customers with regular shipment updates

    * Ensuring customs and compliance procedures are followed

    * Obtaining supplier rates and assisting with job costing

    * Checking supplier invoices and supporting profitability

    * Maintaining accurate operational records within the freight system

    * Working closely with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery

    What We're Looking For

    * 1-3 years' experience within freight forwarding or logistics operations

    * Knowledge of air freight, road freight, courier or multimodal transport

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments

    * Experience using freight forwarding software (Boxtop or similar would be beneficial)
