How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teacher of Social Sciences (KS4 & A-Level)

    Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
    Salary: MPS/UPS (£31,650 - £49,084 dependent on experience)
    Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Maternity Leave)
    Start Date: The New Term

    Teacher of Social Sciences - KS4 & A-Level

    Clarence Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and ambitious Teacher of Social Sciences to join a thriving secondary school in Rugby, Warwickshire, from the new term.
    This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate educator who can deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons across Key Stage 4 and A-Level. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach one or more Social Science subjects, including Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Health & Social Care, or Citizenship, helping students develop a deeper understanding of human behaviour, society, and contemporary issues.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver high-quality Social Sciences lessons at KS4 and A-Level.
    Inspire students through engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking teaching.
    Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
    Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing meaningful feedback and targeted support.
    Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring excellent outcomes.
    Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
    Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
    Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
    Support enrichment activities that enhance students' understanding of Social Sciences.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.
    Participate fully in parents' evenings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
    Experience teaching Social Sciences at KS4 and/or A-Level.
    Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Social Science education.
    Ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire learners of all abilities.
    Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
    Commitment to raising attainment and promoting positive student outcomes.
    Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
