How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Leicester
    Salary: £180 - £255 pd (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)

    About the Role
    Clarence Recruitment is delighted to be working with a respected secondary school in Leicester who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their Humanities team.
    This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students to understand the world around them and develop a curiosity about people, places, and the environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach additional Humanities subjects for the right candidate.
    You will join a supportive and forward-thinking department that encourages creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Deliver engaging and well-planned Geography lessons that encourage curiosity and independent thinking.
    Teach a range of geographical topics, including physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global development.
    Develop students' analytical, research, and fieldwork skills.
    Inspire learners to understand current global challenges and the relationship between people and the environment.
    Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
    Create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated and confident.
    Contribute to curriculum development and the continued improvement of the Humanities department.
    Support students in achieving strong outcomes through effective teaching and assessment.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and best practice.The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Have experience teaching Geography within a secondary school setting.
    Possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
    Be able to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
    Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills.
    Have high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and achievement.
