How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a world-class engineering manufacturer that designs and manufactures highly engineered mechanical products supplied to leading OEMs across a range of international industries.

    Due to continued investment and new product development, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years' commercial design experience who enjoys developing engineered products from concept through to manufacture.

    The Role

    Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll be involved in the design and development of precision engineered mechanical components and assemblies, supporting both new product development and improvements to existing products.

    Responsibilities include:

    * Designing mechanical components and assemblies from concept through detailed manufacture.

    * Producing 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.

    * Developing practical engineering solutions that balance performance, manufacturability, quality and cost.

    * Working closely with manufacturing, production and customers to understand technical requirements.

    * Supporting product development, testing and continuous improvement activities.

    * Participating in design reviews and engineering problem-solving.

    About You

    Ideally you'll have experience of:

    * Mechanical product design using 3D CAD.

    * Designing precision machined components and assemblies.

    * Developing designs from first principles rather than simply modifying existing products.

    * Design for manufacture and assembly.

    * Working closely with production and manufacturing teams.

    What's on Offer

    * Opportunity to work on technically challenging engineered products.

    * Stable, well-established international manufacturer.

    * Excellent training and career development.

    * Collaborative engineering environment.

    * 4 days on site and 1 day remote working
