How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Learning Mentor (KS3 & KS4) | Alternative Provision
    Location: Stroud
    Pay: £90-£115 per day + Holiday Pay (12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot)
    Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

    We're recruiting a Learning Mentor to join a welcoming Alternative Provision in Stroud, supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who benefit from additional guidance both in and out of the classroom.

    This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

    What you'll be doing

    Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to students.

    Supporting students to engage positively with learning and develop confidence, resilience and independence.

    Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted role model.

    Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and effective coping strategies.

    Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to support individual learning and behaviour plans.

    Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

    Supporting educational visits and off-site activities where required.

    What we're looking for

    At least 30 days' experience working with children or young people.

    Experience supporting students with additional needs, SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.

    A calm, compassionate and positive approach.

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    The ability to motivate, encourage and inspire young people.

    A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as travel between sites and supporting off-site activities may be required.

    A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and succeed.
