How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind Recruitment is working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Cambridge that is seeking a passionate and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a future career in education and want to develop practical classroom experience.

    Working alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, you will play an important role in supporting students, improving learning outcomes and helping pupils build confidence both academically and personally.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

    Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
    Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students make progress.
    Delivering targeted interventions and assisting with student development.
    Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting effective classroom management.
    Working with students who have additional learning needs, including SEND.
    Building positive relationships with pupils to support their academic and personal growth.
    Taking part in wider school activities and contributing to the school community.

    The Successful Candidate Will Have

    A degree qualification (2:2 or above) in any subject area.
    A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their education.
    Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
    A proactive, patient and adaptable approach.
    The confidence to work independently as well as part of a wider school team.
    An interest in progressing into teaching, educational psychology or a related education career (desirable but not essential).
