How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    You'll build positive relationships with children who need consistency, patience and someone who believes in them. Every day is different, and every small success makes a real impact.

    We're looking for the right person, not just the right CV.

    or you simply have the empathy, resilience and motivation to support children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the school

    You'll be joining a friendly and inclusive Gloucester primary school with a strong community feel.

    Its most recent Ofsted inspection recognised the school as Good, highlighting that pupils are happy, safe and well supported within an environment built around respect, compassion and helping every child succeed. Inspectors praised the school's ambitious curriculum, strong pastoral support, positive behaviour, and the way staff work together to help pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. The report also recognised the school's effective support for pupils with SEND and its commitment to ensuring every child can take part in school life, regardless of their individual needs.

    This creates a fantastic environment for a Teaching Assistant who wants to be part of a supportive team making a lasting difference.

    Your role

    As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

    * Support children aged 5 to 11 in the classroom and around school.

    * Build trusting relationships with pupils.

    * Help children regulate their emotions and engage with learning.

    * Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.

    * Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.

    * Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.

    What we're looking for

    You don't need previous school experience.

    The qualities that matter most are:

    * Kind and patient.

    * Calm under pressure.

    * Positive and encouraging.

    * Reliable and committed.

    * Passionate about helping children reach their potential.

    * Comfortable working as part of a team.

    If you've supported people through work, volunteering, coaching or caring, your skills could be a great fit.

    What's on offer?

    * £14.25 per hour.

    * Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.

    * 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    * September start.

    * Permanent opportunity after a successful 16-week settling-in period.

    * Ongoing support from Axcis Education.

    * The chance to build a rewarding career supporting children with SEND.

    If you're searching for a Teaching Assistant job in Gloucester, a SEND Teaching Assistant role, or meaningful work supporting children with autism, SEMH and learning disabilities, this could be the perfect opportunity.
