How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're looking for an experienced Shift Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK Facilities Management provider, supporting a prestigious Pharmaceutical contract in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, critical environment where reliability, compliance, and operational excellence are essential to site performance.

    šŸ”§ What you'll be doing:

    šŸ› ļø Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems

    šŸŒ¬ļø Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and associated mechanical plant

    šŸ” Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective root cause analysis to minimise downtime

    āš™ļø Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical mechanical infrastructure

    šŸ“‹ Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reports accurately

    🦺 Working in line with GMP standards, health & safety regulations, and site procedures

    šŸ“ˆ Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency

    šŸ¤ Working closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider engineering team to maintain service excellence

    šŸ“Š Supporting contractual KPIs and service delivery standards

    āœ… Maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service at all times

    šŸ‘·ā€ā™‚ļø What we're looking for:

    šŸ”¹ Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent)

    šŸ”¹ Experience within Facilities Management, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or other regulated environments

    šŸ”¹ Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and mechanical building services

    šŸ”¹ Proven experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance

    šŸ”¹ Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

    šŸ”¹ Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements

    šŸ”¹ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment

    šŸ”¹ Good communication and stakeholder management skills

    šŸ”¹ Proactive and customer-focused approach to service delivery

    ⭐ Desirable:

    āœ… Experience working within GMP-controlled environments

    āœ… Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements

    āœ… Experience using CAFM systems

    āœ… IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification

    āœ… Experience supporting energy efficiency and continuous improvement projects

    āœ… Experience working on critical infrastructure and business-critical systems
