How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BESS O&M Service Engineer

    Job Description:

    Location: Oxfordshire - UK South, England, United Kingdom

    We are currently looking to recruit an experienced BESS O&M Service Engineer for our UK BESS Projects.

    The focus of the role is around the operation and maintenance, troubleshooting and performance optimization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems whilst being technically minded around installations and utility connections. The work will cover BESS project and field work, but also home-office working, ensuring the safe and efficient system operation in line with contract obligations. This also includes reviewing technical maintenance documentation and drawings, supporting in planning activities and emergency corrective maintenance support.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in ensuring the reliable operations and optimal performance of BESS projects, while joining a successful company currently undergoing a significant growth phase in the energy transition sector.

    The candidate will need to be motivated and have a strong technical background in Battery Energy Storage Systems with a proven track record in Operations and Maintenance. A candidate who has training on Battery systems and PCS specific equipment will be highly advantageous.

    Responsibilities

    *

    Conduct and support routine preventive and corrective maintenance of Battery Storage Systems and associated infrastructure.

    *

    Carrying out remote operations as part of the corrective or preventive maintenance requirements.

    *

    Perform site inspections and diagnostics using tools and test equipment.

    *

    Ensure adherence to site-specific Health and Safety standards and regulations

    *

    Supervision of subcontractors and ensuring quality and compliance of third-party works

    *

    Provide support during commissioning, upgrades and major repairs.

    *

    Review Maintenance documentation and manuals and provide support in drafting maintenance procedures and Methods of Statement.

    *

    Cooperating with LTSA management and H&S to draft and review H&S documentation, RAMS and other relevant procedures.

    *

    Support management team in communication with OEM suppliers for Maintenance procedures and relevant clarifications

    *

    Support in drafting the annual plan of the BESS projects

    *

    On-Call support for urgent site issues outside of normal working hours.

    Requirements

    *

    Solid experience with the operaƟon and maintenance of Energy Storage/BESS Projects, Renewables or Power Sector industry. [Minimum 2 years of experience]

    *

    Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

    *

    Strong understanding and training on LV systems, Inverters, Energy Management Systems and Batteries.

    *

    ECS/CSCS card or eligibility to obtain one.

    *

    Working knowledge of UK HSE regulations and safe working practices

    *

    Strong organizational and written communication skills

    *

    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in UK.

    *

    Forward thinking, a problem solver and solution provider.

    Flexibility for participating in out of hours coverage.

    *

    Experience with HV operations will be advantageous.
