How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Engineer – Controls & Instrumentation

    Location: Darwen
    Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits

    Project Engineer (Controls & Instrumentation) | Manufacturing | Darwen

    H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business for a Project Engineer specialising in Controls & Instrumentation.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected engineering team delivering a range of capital and continuous improvement projects within a busy manufacturing environment.

    You'll be responsible for managing projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery against scope, budget and programme while working closely with engineering, operations and external contractors.

    The Role

    Key responsibilities include:

    *

    Delivering engineering projects from design through to commissioning

    *

    Managing project plans, budgets and resource allocation

    *

    Supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA and instrumentation-related projects

    *

    Coordinating internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers

    *

    Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget

    *

    Producing technical documentation and project reports

    *

    Carrying out site inspections and monitoring project progress

    *

    Supporting procurement activities and equipment specification

    *

    Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation plans

    *

    Providing technical support and mentoring within the engineering team

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

    *

    Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline

    *

    Previous experience delivering engineering or capital projects within manufacturing

    *

    Knowledge of PLCs, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems

    *

    Strong project management and organisational skills

    *

    Experience managing contractors and ensuring safe delivery of projects

    *

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    *

    Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence experience would be advantageous
