Part-Time Year 1/2 Teacher Job in Leicester | KS1 Teaching Opportunity
Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and highly regarded primary school in Newtown Linford, Leicester, for an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team from August 2026 until March 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and committed Primary Teacher seeking a part-time teaching rolewith consistency, autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a supportive school community.
The successful candidate will teach a mixed Year 1/2 class for 2.5 days per week and will take full classroom responsibility, including planning, preparation, assessment and parent communication where required.
The Role
As the Year 1/2 Teacher, you will:
Teach a mixed Year 1/2 Key Stage 1 class
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, creative lessons
Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
Work closely with colleagues and parents to support pupil development
Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and wellbeing
Carry out all usual classroom teacher responsibilities
We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Recent experience teaching in UK primary schools
Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Confident planning and delivering high-quality lessons independently
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Please note: This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) due to the level of classroom responsibility.
