How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP) – Trainee Teaching Assistant

    Location: Scarborough - multiple opportunities
    Start Date: Ongoing intakes / September
    Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available

This programme provides high-quality training and a clear pathway into working as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools across Hull.

    Whether you are looking for a career change, returning to work, or taking your first step into education, NTAP equips you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a classroom environment.

    What the Programme Includes:

    Comprehensive online and practical training covering key aspects of the Teaching Assistant role
    Modules focused on safeguarding, behaviour management, and supporting learning
    Ongoing support from experienced education consultants
    Opportunities to gain paid work in local primary schools following successful completion
    Role Responsibilities (once placed in schools):

    Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
    Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
    Assist children with additional needs, including SEN
    Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
    Support pupils’ social and emotional development
    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    A passion for working with children and supporting their development
    A willingness to learn and complete the training programme
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    A proactive and adaptable approach
    Relevant experience is beneficial but not required
