How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will join an established Accounting & Business Advisory team, supporting a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries.

    Working closely with senior colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting services, building strong client relationships, and supporting businesses with their financial reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to continue their professional development within a supportive practice environment that offers structured career progression and ongoing study support.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering a high standard of service
    Prepare statutory financial statements for a range of business entities
    Produce accurate and timely management accounts
    Prepare personal tax returns
    Assist with the preparation of P11Ds
    Attend client meetings and build relationships with directors and business owners
    Support audit assignments where required (desirable)
    Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
    Assist with general accountancy and administrative duties as required

    About You

    AAT qualified and/or currently studying towards ACA or ACCA
    Minimum of 2-3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
    Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks
    Knowledge of Iris would be advantageous
    Strong technical accounting skills with excellent attention to detail
    Excellent communication and client relationship skills
    Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to continue developing professionally
    Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
