How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a recent or soon-to-be graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology looking to build hands-on experience working with SEN children and young people as an Aspiring Child Counsellor?

    This school in East Grinstead is a supportive and inclusive special school for pupils age with a range of needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Their multidisciplinary approach provides a unique environment for developing your understanding of behaviour, emotional regulation, and therapeutic support strategies.

    This Aspiring Child Counsellor / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role in East Grinstead is ideal for graduates seeking experience before progressing into careers such as Child Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Mental Health Support.

    You will work closely with experienced staff and therapists to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and access to learning.

    Key Responsibilities for an Aspiring Child Counsellor / LSA

    Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
    Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
    Assist in implementing individual learning and care plans
    Observe, monitor, and report on student progress and wellbeing
    Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment

    A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field
    A genuine interest in child development, mental health, or therapy
    Empathy, patience, and resilience
