How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Family Group:

Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group

    Job Description:

As Head of Regional Procurement and Supply Alliances, you will lead Castrol’s regional procurement organisation and external commercial partnership agenda across procurement delivery, strategic alliances, supply-chain-related M&A, and third-party manufacturing.

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer and serving as a member of the Procurement Leadership Team, this role has global accountability for driving consistent, compliant, and value-led procurement execution across Castrol’s regional procurement teams. You will also lead Castrol’s global third-party manufacturing strategy and supply-chain-related M&A and alliance activity, working closely with bp M&A and enterprise governance teams.

This is a broad senior leadership role at the intersection of procurement, supply chain, commercial strategy, and external partnerships. You will strengthen regional procurement capability, standardise ways of working, develop high-performing leaders, and shape strategic relationships across Castrol’s value chain, including suppliers, third-party blenders, manufacturing partners, circularity partners, and selected external organisations.

You will lead a globally distributed organisation with 10+ direct reports and broader accountability across regional procurement, strategic alliances, M&A, and third-party manufacturing. You will set direction for the function, develop high-performing leaders, and drive consistent execution through clear priorities, effective delegation, coaching, performance management, and organisational alignment.

The role will be based in Central London on a hybrid working model and may involve international travel across Castrol’s global operations

    Key delivery areas

    • Ensure global category strategies are fit for regional execution, working with global category teams to deliver business value.

    • Strengthen cross-regional collaboration, business connectivity, execution discipline, and regional procurement capability.

    Strategic alliances and M&A leadership

    • Lead the development and execution of a global strategic alliances and supply-chain-related M&A agenda aligned with Castrol and Procurement priorities.

    • Originate, structure, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships, alliance agreements, joint ventures, investments, divestments, and acquisition opportunities.

    • Lead or partner on the transaction lifecycle, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, financial modelling, negotiation, approval, governance, and post-transaction integration.

    • Build robust business cases for significant Castrol capital investments and deliver material value through alliances, transactions, and commercial partnerships.

    Third-party manufacturing strategy

    • Lead Castrol’s global third-party manufacturing strategy, including network design, capacity strategy, supplier performance, and partner selection.

    • Shape the future manufacturing footprint through external partnerships, investment decisions, and third-party manufacturing models.

    • Drive cost competitiveness, sustainability, resilience, innovation, and business continuity through strategic manufacturing partnerships.

    • Ensure third-party manufacturing arrangements meet Castrol’s quality, safety, environmental, compliance, and risk requirements.

    Partnership governance and value delivery

    • Establish clear governance frameworks, performance metrics, and playbooks for strategic partnerships and alliance management.

    • Lead executive-level relationship management with strategic suppliers, partners, and C-suite counterparts.

    • Track value realisation and performance across procurement delivery, alliances, transactions, and third-party manufacturing arrangements.

    • Partner with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Operations, Technology, Commercial, Strategy, and bp M&A teams to deliver balanced, compliant, and value-led outcomes.

    Who you will work with

You will work closely with the Chief Procurement Officer, Procurement Leadership Team, Chief Supply Chain Officer, regional procurement teams, global category teams, and regional and global business leadership. You will also partner with Legal, Finance, Operations, Technology, Commercial, Strategy, and bp M&A teams.

Externally, you will engage with strategic suppliers, manufacturers, alliance partners, third-party blenders, contract manufacturers, investment and partnership targets, advisors, consultants, legal counsel, industry bodies, and sustainability partners.

    Culture and ways of working

    • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-impact environment with significant accountability.

    • Thrive in ambiguity while maintaining strong execution discipline and delivery focus.

    • Build trust across regions and functions through clear communication, strong judgement, and collaborative leadership.

    • Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture where people are developed, supported, and held accountable for delivery.

    Skills and experience

    • Senior procurement, commercial, supply chain, or external partnerships leadership experience in a complex global organisation.

    • Experience leading regional or global procurement teams, including responsibility for procurement delivery, governance, controls, and capability building.

    • Strong understanding of procurement operating models, category execution, supplier management, and regional business partnering.

    • Experience with strategic alliances, joint ventures, equity investments, acquisitions, divestments, or complex commercial partnerships within a supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

    • Ability to combine commercial judgement with practical operational insight, translating procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain realities into sound partnership and investment decisions.

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing and third-party production models, including contract manufacturing, packaging, or other manufacturing-intensive supply chains.

    • Experience gained in FMCG, CPG, consumer goods, or adjacent manufacturing-led sectors is highly relevant, though candidates from other sectors are welcome where comparable scale, complexity, and commercial leadership can be demonstrated.

    • Executive-level presence, with experience influencing senior leaders and operating effectively in complex, global, matrixed organisations.

    • Strong people leadership capability, including experience building, coaching, and leading high-performing geographically distributed teams.

    • Strong commercial judgement, negotiation capability, financial acumen, and understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, valuation, capital allocation, and value delivery.

    • Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
