How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator

    Engineering & Manufacturing | £36,000 - £40,000 DOE

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer looking for an organised, proactive Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator to become a key part of their operations team.

    You'll play an important role as Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator in supporting the smooth running of operations, working closely with Production, Purchasing and Quality to ensure the MRP system is maintained, stock is organised and operational processes run as efficiently as possible.

    This is a varied role where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of dispatch, stores and manufacturing processes, ensuring materials and products move efficiently through the business and are delivered to customers on time.

    The Role as Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator

    You'll be responsible for coordinating the movement of materials and finished products throughout the business, maintaining an organised stores function and ensuring customer deliveries leave on time. You'll also look for ways to improve efficiency, streamline processes and keep operations running smoothly from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities as Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator

    Maintain and update the MRP system, ensuring accurate material and order information.
    Creating/ Writing and implementing work instructions where necessary
    Create processes and keep everything flowing smoothly regarding MRP practices
    Coordinate daily dispatch activities, ensuring customer deliveries are accurate and on schedule. Arranging delivery and you may even be required to delivery important parts to clients - engineering businesses
    Take ownership of the stores function, maintaining a clean, organised and efficient working environment.
    Ensure stock is accurately located, controlled and readily available for production.
    Work closely with Production and Purchasing to ensure materials are available when required.
    Monitor the flow of work through the business, helping to identify and resolve any bottlenecks.
    Coordinate incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring full accuracy and traceability.
    Continually review processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and optimise workflow.
    Support inventory accuracy through regular stock checks and good housekeeping.
    Build strong working relationships across the business to ensure operations run smoothly.

    About You as Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator

    Our client is looking for someone who enjoys organising, planning and improving the way things work. You'll be someone who naturally takes ownership, is proactive and enjoys making a positive impact.

    As Operations & Dispatch Co-ordinator, You'll ideally have:

    Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
    A good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
    Experience in dispatch, stores, production coordination, logistics or planning.
    Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    A practical approach to problem solving.
    Good communication skills and the confidence to work across multiple departments.
    A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to make processes more efficient.
    Happy to get stuck in as required
