How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Taylor Root have been instructed on an exciting new Commercial, Technology & Outsourcing Associate position within a Tier 1 practice known for delivering high‑quality, complex commercial and tech advisory work.

This is a genuinely standalone commercial practice that generates around 90% of its work independently, providing associates with exposure to a broad and varied workload.

    The Work

You’ll advise on a diverse range of commercial and technology matters, with minimal due diligence and a strong emphasis on strategic, high‑value contracts. Typical work includes:

    • Technology & outsourcing: IT and BPO outsourcing, software licensing, cloud services and digital transformation projects.
    • Advertising & adtech matters as part of a growing area of the practice.

Clients include global tech companies, major retailers and brands, technology suppliers, media organisations and start-ups.

    About you

The team is seeking someone who brings:

    • 2–4 years’ PQE with strong commercial contracts experience gained in a respected commercial or tech practice.
    • A genuine interest in working across a broad mix of matters and industry sectors.
    • Intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness, and enthusiasm for contributing to client training, networking and wider business development.

    Culture & Development

    • This is a cohesive, collaborative and low‑ego team where associates are trusted with early client contact and meaningful responsibility. The firm offers hybrid working, with associates typically in the office three days per week.
    • The culture prioritises a healthy work‑life balance and late nights and weekend work are not the norm. You’ll benefit from excellent training, ongoing development and a clear career progression path, with hires made with the long term firmly in mind.
