How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join a small but highly visible bids team. You'll be working closely with people across the business, often chasing information from teams who are already busy. The successful person will be approachable, pragmatic and good at building rapport. Someone who can bring people with them rather than simply sending another email.

This isn't the sort of environment where everything is already built for you. The foundations are there, but there's still plenty of opportunity to improve processes, shape ways of working and make a genuine impact. If you enjoy being part of the growth rather than inheriting a finished product, you'll probably enjoy this role.

    Description

Managing bids from initial review through to submission
Analysing tender documents and identifying key requirements
Coordinating input from stakeholders across commercial, operational, finance and technical teams
Writing, editing and reviewing high-quality tender responses
Ensuring submissions are compliant and delivered on time
Supporting the ongoing development of bid content, processes and the bid library

Strong public sector tender experience and understanding of frameworks

    Experience working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
Someone who can build relationships across a business and influence stakeholders positivelyJob Offer

Salary around £50,000, with flexibility for the right person
Hybrid working - 1-2 days per week in the office depending on commute, with office locations in both Manchester & Yorkshire
Exposure to senior leadership and key business projects
Genuine opportunity to shape and develop the bid function
Support with further training and professional development
A collaborative, hardworking culture with real opportunities to progressIf you are ready to take on this exciting Bid Manager role, we encourage you to apply today
