How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Manager – Rail

    £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

    Manchester

    Are you an experienced Electrical Project Manager looking to lead major rail infrastructure projects for a well-established engineering business?

    We're recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading electrical engineering contractor for a Rail Project Manager to join their growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage technically challenging projects across the rail sector while playing a key role in developing long-term client relationships.

    The Role

    You'll take full responsibility for delivering rail electrical installation projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

    Projects include:

    * HV & LV Substation Installations

    * Transformer Replacements

    * Shore Supply Installations

    * LV Electrical Installations

    * Containment

    * Lighting

    * Small Power

    * Electrical Infrastructure within rail depots and trackside environments

    This role does not involve train signalling or overhead line work. The majority of projects are within rail depots, stations and trackside infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    * Deliver multiple electrical projects from conception through to completion

    * Manage project budgets, programmes and commercial performance

    * Build and maintain strong customer relationships

    * Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely and to the highest quality standards

    * Identify and develop opportunities with new and existing customers

    * Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and industry regulations

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven experience delivering Rail electrical projects

    * Strong HV and LV installation knowledge

    * Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 minimum)

    * HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering desirable

    * Experience delivering substation or transformer replacement projects

    * Commercial awareness and client-facing experience

    * Strong leadership and communication skills
