How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to maintain and repair production equipment, minimise downtime, and support the efficient operation of manufacturing lines. The role combines reactive and planned maintenance responsibilities while working closely with production and engineering teams to drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

    Description

    Working shifts - 2 days and 2 nights and 4 off

    Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to minimise downtime.
    Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
    Collaborate with production teams to optimise equipment performance.
    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
    Support the implementation of new machinery and technology upgrades.
    Provide technical guidance to colleagues when required.Profile

    A successful Shift Multiskilled Engineer should have:

    Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering - HNC or equivalent
    Experience working within the FMCG industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    Ability to work effectively as part of a team in Leigh.
    Knowledge of health and safety standards in engineering and manufacturing.Job Offer
