TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Mountain Ash that is seeking to appoint a dedicated General Cover Teacher to work within its specialist behaviour unit. The provision supports secondary-aged students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), providing a structured, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to develop both academically and socially through positive relationships and consistent support.

The school is looking to appoint a General Cover Teacher on a temporary long-term basis until Easter. The successful General Cover Teacher will deliver general cover lessons across a range of subjects, working closely with students who display challenging behaviours and require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will be expected to establish clear boundaries, manage behaviour effectively and create engaging lessons that help students remain motivated and achieve their potential.

The successful General Cover Teacher will have:

• QTS (NQTs are encouraged to apply)
• Experience teaching secondary-aged students within UK schools
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
• Experience supporting students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), SEMH or challenging behaviour
• The ability to build positive, professional relationships with vulnerable young people
• A calm, patient and resilient approach with excellent communication skills
