THE ROLE
As an MET Strip Fitter, you will be responsible for removing, repairing, and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide range of vehicles
·Diagnose damaged components and identify repair or replacement requirements
·Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods and industry best practice
·Work closely with Panel Technicians and Paint Technicians to ensure repairs progress efficiently
·Conduct quality inspections to ensure all work meets company and manufacturer standards
·Accurately complete repair documentation and update job records
·Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
·Ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales while maintaining exceptional workmanship
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and quality-driven MET Strip Fitter who takes pride in delivering first-class repairs and enjoys working within a fast-paced accident repair centre.
·Previous experience as an MET Strip Fitter or MET Technician within an automotive bodyshop
·Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and trim systems
·Experience working on modern vehicle technology, including ADAS-equipped vehicles
·Ability to diagnose repair requirements and complete repairs efficiently
·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
·Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
·Full UK Driving Licence
·ATA Accreditation advantageous but not essential
