How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MOT Tester / Mechanic
    Location: Suffolk

    An established and reputable automotive business in Suffolk is looking for an experienced and reliable MOT Tester / Mechanic to join its busy and friendly workshop team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled automotive professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and is looking to become part of a supportive and well-established team environment.

    The Role

    As an MOT Tester / Mechanic, you will play a key role in delivering a high standard of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair work. You will be responsible for carrying out MOT testing, diagnosing faults, and completing mechanical repairs efficiently while ensuring all work meets the required safety and quality standards.

    The successful candidate will be confident working independently, as well as contributing positively as part of the wider workshop team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards and requirements
    Service and repair a wide range of vehicles
    Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs efficiently and accurately
    Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
    Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
    Follow company procedures and maintain excellent standards of workmanship
    Provide support to colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of the workshop

    Essential Requirements

    Valid MOT Tester licence (Class 4)
    Proven experience working as a vehicle technician/mechanic
    Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
    Ability to work well as part of a team
    Full UK Driving Licence
