How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Python Software Engineer
    Location: London, UK
    Working Environment: Hybrid

The company is a leading financial data and analytics company who are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer with experience of working on the development of SaaS applications.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on the development of their market-leading SaaS products, which deliver data science and data visualisation for the world's largest financial datasets. You will technically lead the end-to-end delivery of several components within the platform, working closely with the SaaS Product Owner, internal teams and external customers, whilst leveraging modern AI agent tools and automated workflows to accelerate delivery, champion high engineering standards, and help mentor and support your teammates.

    Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and evolve scalable, secure, and reliable microservices powering our core SaaS products, including enterprise solutions across single- and multi-tenant architectures.
Leverage and champion AI-powered engineering tools, LLM coding assistants, and automated workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance team productivity.
Partner closely with the Product Owner to translate complex financial data requirements into well-defined technical solutions, applying a product-focused mindset and confidently navigating ambiguity.
Contribute to AWS infrastructure including leveraging CloudWatch Logs for monitoring, diagnostics, and incident support, maintaining operational excellence across services.
Support the growth of junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing, helping to continuously raise engineering standards across the team.
    Key Requirements

Degree in computer science or other STEM degree plus relevant programming experience
6+ years of experience programming in Python and working across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, with significant exposure to developing SaaS applications
Experience working with AWS and Terraform
Experience with AI assisted tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor…) to improve day-to-day productivity
Excellent communication skillsDesired, but not essential:

Experience programming with Typescript / React
Exposure to semantic search, vector databases, or LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex)
Familiarity with high-scale data tools such as DuckDB, pandas, Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake
    Salary description

    £80000.00 - £100000.00 per year
