How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Location: Preston

    Salary: £52,000

    Shift: Double Days (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm)

    Opportunity for  an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to join a growing manufacturer that is investing heavily in its people, machinery.  This Electrical Maintenance Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of modern production equipment,. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maximising production uptime through planned and reactive maintenance, continuous improvement projects and new equipment installations, working closely with an experienced engineering team. This Electrical Maintenance Engineer opportunity is ideal for someone looking for long-term career stability, genuine progression opportunities and the chance to make a real impact within a successful and expanding manufacturing business.

    Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Must have previous experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer,
    Must hold a recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (
    Must have experience working within a manufacturing/ production environment.
    Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience on production machinery.
    Essential Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Electrical fault finding and reactive breakdown maintenance.
    Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
    Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery.
    Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    Continuous Improvement and TPM involvement.
    Ability to read electrical drawings and complete engineering documentation.
    Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with production and engineering teams.
