How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Computer Science Teacher - Wellingborough

    Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
    Contract: Full-time
    Start Date: September 2026

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students and develop their understanding of computing, programming, and digital technologies across Key Stages 3 and 4.

    The successful candidate will join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to delivering an engaging curriculum that equips students with the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed for future success.

    The Role

    As a Computer Science Teacher, you will:

    Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

    Teach topics including programming, algorithms, computational thinking, cybersecurity, and computer systems.

    Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.

    Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.

    Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners.

    Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a passion for technology.

    Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

    Support the wider life of the school through pastoral responsibilities and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

    Experience teaching Computer Science within a secondary school setting.

    Strong subject knowledge, including programming and computing fundamentals.

    Excellent classroom management skills.

    The ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.

    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

    An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
